MEDITATION WORKSHOP

Yoga means a unity/oneness and nidra is sankrit for sleep – this practice is a meditation to access your wholeness across all states of consciousness.

This is an extended, healing, systematic technique which will bring you to both a state of deep relaxation and acute awareness while resting comfortably in Shavasana! (our favorite yoga pose!)

An art of balancing your awareness of the physical body and the subtle body – inner spaces of being – through the use of body scanning, breath awareness and guided imagery…

which takes you through the Panchamaya Kosha (five layers of self), calming the nervous system to alleviate stress and anxiousness.

Quieting the overactive mind and moving toward a meditative state – reaching a sense of joy and well-being

We will follow the meditation with a

FUN, EASY project!

1st Sunday Meditation

Join us the 1st Sunday of every month for a PRANAYAMA (breathing practice) – MEDITATION class. No experience necessary. 

—Class will start with a few gentle stretches to prepare our body.

—Next, we will explore our own breathing pattern and practice different breathing techniques.

—We will finish with a silent meditation. 

Pranayama helps reduce anxiety and stress, improves energy level and helps the mind to settle down for our meditation practice.

Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement Class

The Feldenkrais Method® of movement education helps individuals develop awareness of movement habits that are causing strain and limitation. In Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) classes, students are guided through gentle movement sequences that enable them to sense for themselves the hidden patterns of tension and over-activity that are keeping them from being the best they can be. The process introduces greater balance of effort throughout the whole body, leading to more comfortable, more skillful, and more efficient movement. This workshop will be taught by Dana Fitzgibbons, a third year student in a Professional Feldenkrais® Training Program. Dana has completed over 400 hours of instruction and is an authorized trainee teacher of Awareness Through® classes.
Wear comfortable, soft clothes that you can move in freely. Mats and blankets are provided at Body Calm Studio, though you may want to bring an extra blanket or towel for support. ATM classes are not like anything else. Come and find out for yourself!

Join us the 3rd Sunday of every month for meditation.

Various meditation techniques will be explored each month, no experience necessary. This month the class will be led by Sharon Hammer
